Orvieto Walking Tour

The Experience

The city is mostly known for its Duomo (Orvieto Catherdral) and is considered one of the most architecturally important in Europe, for its Etruscan roots, and for the museums where one finds collections and displays that range over 2,500 years of history. During this tour you will walk through Orvieto’s charming, narrow alleys, and small squares. Your tour will be a very memorable experience, perfect for reflecting over while you enjoy an Umbrian meal and a glass (or two) of Orvieto Classico wine (not included).

Your city tour will start from Piazza Cahen at 10:45am. From there you will start getting immersed in the old Etruscan history of the city by seeing the remains of Belvedere Temple. After a nice walk slightly uphill you will reach the Duomo which is one of the most stunning churches of Italy. Famous for its façade mosaics, it preserves a masterpiece of Italian Renaissance painted by Luca Signorelli, the Chapel of San Brizio. After the Duomo tour you will have a nice walk to medieval old squares through typical alleys which seem to have kept the mysteries and secrets of Medieval life.
