The Experience

You will start your day by heading to the pickup venue in central Lisbon to collect your electric vehicle. After showing your driving licence and completing a quick check-in, staff provide a short briefing on how to operate the two-seater e-car and how the built-in GPS audio guide works. Because the car uses an automatic gearbox and silent electric motor, getting used to driving it takes just a few minutes before you set off into the city traffic.

Once out on the road, you follow the pre-loaded GPS route through historic neighbourhoods like Baixa and Bairro Alto. As you navigate the winding streets and historic squares, the audio system triggers directional prompts alongside commentary detailing local history, culture and key landmarks. The compact size of the car makes it easy to squeeze through tight medieval alleys where standard tour buses cannot fit.

The route then takes you along the waterfront toward Belém, passing prominent landmarks such as the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery. Because you are steering your own vehicle, you can pause the route whenever you spot something interesting. You can park up near the river to get out, take photos, or grab a quick Portuguese custard tart while the vehicle sits securely nearby.

With a full four-hour rental window, there is no need to rush between locations. As you work your way through the suggested circuit or explore quiet side streets, the GPS keeps you oriented so you can easily return to the starting point when your session time ends.
